Chances are physical therapy may have been mentioned as a solution to the pain your are dealing with on a daily basis. If you want to become more mobile, stronger, and perform better without the help of pain pills, a physical therapy evaluation and plan can give you a beneficial direction.
In our evaluation, we address your questions and concerns, evaluate your limitations and design a plan of care to guide you to a pain-free life. In addition, we send you home with ‘homework.’ This homework consists of therapeutic exercises that you perform on a daily basis or as instructed by your therapist.
You may need a referral before being evaluated, but that varies depending on current insurance coverage. Please call the office at 503.353.1278. If you are a patient with Northwest Primary Care, we usually receive a referral from your PCP.
Sometimes imaging can be helpful, but certainly not required. We will coordinate with your physician to determine the need for future imaging.
We work very hard to achieve continuity in patient care, but occasionally due to scheduling conflicts, we may need to have you work with another team member. Our goal is always for you to remain with the same physical therapist/physical therapist assistant team throughout the duration of your treatment. Although we make every attempt to make this happen, conflicts with scheduling may require you to be seen by another physical therapist team member.
The number one question most people ask is, “How long will it take for me to feel better?” This varies from patient to patient and depends on a variety of things; e.g. severity, time-frame, previous injury, comorbidities, and age. These factors play an important role in determining your prognosis. Our goal is to have you feeling better in about four visits.
